The Silkmen welcome a Premier League outfit to the Moss Rose this evening, as Burnley make the trip south in what should be a tasty pre-season encounter.
Macc head into tonight’s fixture hoping to deliver a positive performance on the back of the 1-0 away defeat to Altrincham on Tuesday.
Disregarding the result, it was a worthwhile evening for the Silkmen as all members of the squad were rewarded with minutes under their belt as the team continuing to gel.
The visitors head into the 2018/19 campaign on the back of their highest league finish since 1974 - an impressive seventh place which also secured European football for the first time in 51 years.
Burnley’s Europa League qualification has put an alternative spin on their pre-season preparations, as Dyche’s side begin to focus their attentions on an important Europa League tie against Aberdeen on Thursday night.
After seeing off Cork City 1-0 in their opening friendly, The Clarets played a behind closed doors double-header on Tuesday night in order to boost match fitness - with both matches ending in defeat for the Premier League side.
The same is set to apply for this evening - with half of the squad set to travel to the Moss Rose, whilst the other half make the trip to Curzon Ashton.
Steven Defour and Robbie Brady are expected absentees, with both players easing back from long-term injuries. The return of Matt Lowton on Tuesday means that Dyche has no other injury concerns.
The Clarets have been relatively quiet on the signings front this summer, with Scott Arfield’s departure being the main transfer activity when he left Turf Moor to joined Scottish giants Rangers.
Kick-off is confirmed for 19:45.
